Home Alone?  How Can Single Women Can Protect Themselves?

(Tips to keep you safe in the coming economic downturn)

As we head into a recession, crime will almost certainly rise.
That’s a scary prospect for most women.
According to statistics, 52% of all women experience violence at some point in their lives.
Experts have long known that crime generally rises at the same rate as unemployment… and with all we have going on in the world right now, a huge spike in unemployment is inevitable.
In fact, on March 25th the President of The Federal Reserve said he believes unemployment in the US could hit THIRTY PERCENT in Quarter 2 of 2020.
In January of this year that number was just 3.6%.
So, we could be seeing an increase of up to TEN TIMES in the coming weeks.
That would mean there are over a hundred million unemployed people in this country. People who need to do ANYTHING to provide for themselves and their family.
We’re probably about to see a rise in crime like we’ve never seen before.

Women, Who Live Alone, Are
Easy Targets

According to statistics, if a burglar is going to try to break into a home while somebody is home - and let’s face it, we’re all home at the moment…
… chances are it’s a home with just a woman present - or a woman with kids.
Official Bureau of Justice figures show that a single mom with children is 3.09 times more likely to get her home broken into than if it were a 2-parent home!
And even worse, her house is 3.84 times more likely to get broken into than a house with no children!
Pretty scary, right?
We could be looking at a tenfold increase in crime… and women on their own are more than three times as likely as anybody else to be a victim.
Those types of crimes are crimes of opportunity… and there are already millions of them each year.
In fact, a home is broken into every 8.5 seconds in the USA…
… and less than 1 in 5 of those crimes is ever solved.
Oh, and those statistics come from the FBI themselves, so you know they’re accurate.
The vast majority of those break-ins are a forced entry of the front door.
A determined thief can kick your door off its hinges, or pry it open in less than a minute.
Actually, kicking it open usually takes between 5 and 10 seconds. Three good kicks. And stats show that 74.5% of the time, that’s exactly how they try to get in.
And prying it will be somewhere between 30 and 40 seconds, most likely.
Those are the simple facts… and yes, they’re terrifying.
It means that most of the time you’re about ten seconds from somebody forcing their way into your home.

So, What's A Girl To Do?

Well, the three things that people think will stop this happening are usually a strong lock on the front door, an alarm system, and calling 911.
Unfortunately, during that ultimate crisis moment, none of those things will really help.

Let’s talk about the locks first.
Unless you’ve got a REALLY bad lock on your front door, there’s a 100% chance the lock is much stronger than the door itself and the frame it’s bolted to.
Sure, the lock will hold when somebody kicks it or jimmies it… but the wooden frame won’t.
And this means that in most cases even the strongest lock is pointless… because the door itself will probably crumble in just a few seconds!
Trust me - a strong lock puts more pressure on the door itself and means that when the door is kicked or hit with something heavy it splits in half and falls inward. And this happens FAST.

Next, let’s talk about alarms.
How does an alarm work?
It works by either putting out a loud sound to scare away the bad guys, or by directly notifying the Police.
Sounds great in theory… but WHEN does it do that?
It does it when somebody forces the door. Which means they’re ALREADY in your home when the alarm is triggered.
Wouldn’t you rather make sure they didn’t get inside in the first place?
All an alarm can do is let the police know a crime has been committed. It cannot stop the crime from happening in the first place.

Last, the option is to call 911.
And sure, if your home gets broken into, you’re obviously going to call the cops.
But depending on where you live, it can take between 5 and 25 minutes for Police to respond.
Picture that scene for a moment. The crook is in the house after 10 seconds… actually getting to the phone and calling the Police might be a problem once there are intruders in the home.
Even if you manage to call 911… you’ve got a wait of at least 5 minutes. 5 minutes with criminals inside your home, trying to do Lord knows what!
When you take all that into account, it really does make the most sense to stop the crooks from getting into the home in the first place, doesn’t it?
One of the simplest ways to do that is with something called Door Armor.
Door Armor works to strengthen the weak parts of any door and make it nigh on impossible for it to be jimmied or forced in any way.
Here’s a video of Sheriff’s deputies putting it to the test:

See the difference?
Once the average thief realizes he’s not easily breaking the door down, he’ll move on and leave the home in peace.
There is no shortage of homes that are easy for him to break into - Door Armor makes sure yours isn’t one of them.
There’s a special deal at the moment where you get a free upgrade if you order quickly.
These gadgets are what boots-on-the-ground law enforcement officers recommend to keep the crooks out of your home for GOOD.

CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATOR REMEMBERS PAST VICTIMS

“This could have saved a lot of pain"
As a retired crime scene investigator, I’ve personally processed thousands of burglary scenes. I can attest to the fact that the preferred point of entry for burglars is a Doorway.
I looked at all sorts of security products to reinforce doors and found this one to be far superior in design and implementation. I wish I knew about this when I was on the force!”

HOW DO POLICE PROTECT THEIR OWN HOMES FROM INTRUDERS?

“I have a gun as a cop, but this makes me feel safe.”
I have seen enough to know how fast an intruder can be on you.  You need time to react and this gives me time.

I DIDN'T THINK IT COULD HAPPEN TO ME.. .

“My alarm did nothing!"
I had an alarm and cameras. All that did was show me the hood of the guys that broke into my house.  I'm just glad that my family wasn't home.  I really wish I knew about this before .. .”
